About This Place

Located in the vibrant heart of Miami Beach, Hiro's Sushi Express (South Beach) delivers an authentic Japanese dining experience that seamlessly blends quality, value, and speed. Specializing in sushi and a broad range of Japanese comfort foods, this welcoming eatery is a must-visit for both locals and visitors craving fresh, flavorful cuisine without the wait or the hefty price tag.

Stepping into Hiro's Sushi Express, you're greeted by a lively yet laid-back atmosphere reflective of South Beach’s dynamic energy. Seating options include cozy counters and a handful of tables, perfect for a quick solo meal or a casual catch-up with friends. The service is notably attentive and efficient, ensuring your experience is as enjoyable as the food itself.

The menu is a treasure trove of Japanese favorites, boasting an impressive variety of sushi rolls, bento boxes, and hot dishes that celebrate both traditional and contemporary flavors. The hallmark of the menu is undoubtedly the sushi — fresh, expertly crafted, and presented to delight all the senses. Whether it’s the Spicy Tuna Hosomaki bursting with vibrant heat and fresh scallions, or the satisfyingly crunchy Salmon Skin Hosomaki drizzled with rich eel sauce, each bite is a testament to authentic preparation and ingredient quality.

For those craving something beyond sushi, Hiro's offers hearty options like the Shrimp Teriyaki Box, featuring plump shrimp glazed in a savory-sweet teriyaki sauce paired with mushrooms, vegetables, and pilaf. The Chicken Katsu Roll combines crispy breaded chicken with delicate rice and seaweed, delivering comforting textures and a well-balanced flavor profile. Fans of noodles will appreciate the Veggie or Tofu Yaki Soba, where perfectly sautéed egg noodles mingle with fresh vegetables or tofu for a satisfying but light option.

Hiro’s strength lies not only in its mouthwatering offerings but also in its dedication to accessibility. Prices remain remarkably reasonable, making it one of the few places on South Beach where you can enjoy filling entrees for under $10— a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed by patrons. This balance of affordability and freshness keeps customers coming back, whether for a quick lunch or a casual dinner.

Customer reviews echo this enthusiasm. Jet Vargas praises the “delightful culinary experience” complete with fresh ingredients and artful presentation, emphasizing the value and attentive service. Meanwhile, David Victor calls Hiro’s his “favorite sushi spot in Miami Beach” and highlights the "fried sticky spicy tuna" as a must-try dish offering explosive flavor in every bite. Madisoned appreciates the authentic touches in dishes like takoyaki and cha siu buns, which transport diners straight to Japan through their textures and tastes.

While some have noted occasional delays in takeout orders, the consensus remains that the quality and flavor more than compensate for any wait—a sentiment echoed by Winter Rose, who looks forward to giving Hiro’s another chance. The restaurant’s steady pace and consistent freshness position it as a reliable refuge in the bustling South Beach scene.

If you are in search of a Japanese restaurant where fresh ingredients, bold flavors, speedy service, and wallet-friendly prices come together, Hiro's Sushi Express (South Beach) offers an irresistible taste of Japan right in the heart of Miami Beach. It's a place where each dish is crafted with care, inviting you to savor every mouthful and return for more.

Went for take out and it seemed they forgot my order as it took longer than the 3 people who ordered after me and I only took 2 rolls and a miso soup so it was a relief when the food was fresh and delicious ! Lots of options so I will try again and hopefully they redeem their service time !

The only restaurant I have found near South Beach that offers entrees for under $10! Foods are good and fast. You order and pay at the counter, seat yourself and they call your name when your order is ready. Foods I have ordered: takoyaki (very doughy, just like the ones I had in Japan), beef rice bowl (delicious), cha siu buns (delicious, buns were fluffy, cha siu melted in my mouth), soft shell crab buns (crabs were deep fried just right), eel rice bowl (sauce was delicious, eel had too many small bones but not the restaurant’s fault), chicken with omelet rice bowl (chicken was juicy but bland, I had to add quite a bit of soy sauce, this was the only dish that was a miss but it only lacked seasoning, the cooking technique was fine). Come support this restaurant so they can stay in business while keeping their prices low

My favorite sushi spot in Miami Beach. If you are looking for some great quality sushi and a quick decent place to eat, this is the place to go. You have to have the fried sticky spicy tuna. so delicious. The food is fresh and they’re always busy. So go there and enjoy it. They also have a couple of great combo platters that are affordable. We were able to feed 5 of us for less than $60 dollars.

This is such a refreshing restaurant in the middle of South Beach. Reasonably priced and freshest sushi and sashimi. Service was incredibly fast. Limited outdoor seating but plenty of tables and counter seats. Will definitely come again and it will be first stop in South Beach.

Hiro’s Suchi Express is the Best Suchi in South Beach (Miami Beach) Full Stop. The menu has extensive choices that will meet the needs of all hungry travelers. All orders are prepared freshly upon order. The sushi is always delicious and the portions are abundant. My Favorites are: ladies finger salmon skin, ladies finger salmon, sashimi appetizers, salmon lovers, jazz sextet, shell shock, shrimp tempura roll, dragon roll, summer roll shrimp, summer roll kani, dynamite shrimp and vegetable egg roll. The staff are always friendly and hospitable. The restaurant is always clean. The orders are made rapidly. This restaurant should be on the top of your list of places when you’re visiting South Beach. You will be Amazed.

⸻ ⭐ 5-Star Review – Hiro’s Sushi Express, South Beach ⭐ Hiro’s Sushi Express is truly one of the best hidden treasures in South Beach. Every time I visit, I’m impressed by how consistently fresh, clean, and perfectly prepared the sushi is. You can literally taste the quality—from the texture of the fish to the way the rolls are assembled. Nothing ever feels old, mushy, or watered down. It’s always fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. What really sets this place apart for Miami Beach is the exceptionally good pricing. In an area where most restaurants charge tourist-level prices for average food, Hiro’s offers high-quality sushi at very fair, affordable rates. The portions are generous, the rolls are filling, and you genuinely feel like you’re getting value for your money. It’s one of the few places in South Beach where you can enjoy excellent sushi without overspending. The menu has a great selection of classic rolls, specialty rolls, sashimi, poke bowls, soups, and sides—everything is quick, convenient, and consistent. Whether I’m picking up food for lunch, grabbing dinner, or stopping by for a quick bite, the service is always fast and friendly. The staff works efficiently, and even during busy hours, they manage to keep everything organized and moving smoothly. The restaurant itself is casual but clean, making it perfect for takeout or a relaxed dine-in experience. You always know exactly what you’re going to get: fresh ingredients, good prices, reliable quality, and friendly service. If you’re in South Beach and craving sushi without the attitude or high prices, Hiro’s Sushi Express is absolutely the place to go. A true neighborhood favorite that deserves every bit of recognition.
